Some potential buyers of waterless composting toilets are unable to buy a split system because their home is built on a concrete slab with no opportunity to install a composting chamber beneath the bathroom floor. For this type of installation we supply Sun-Mar self contained composting toilets. Sun-Mar is a Canadian manufacturer and one of the largest producers of composting toilets in the world. They have been producing waterless composting toilets for 30 years. Ecoflo is the exclusive Australian importer.
The Excel NE waterless toilet is certified as complying with Australian Standards 1546.2 and can be installed in Queensland and New South Wales. Approval is pending in other states. The Excel has a unique three chamber processing system including the patented Bio-drum. The high gloss white finish ensures it fits in well with other bathroom fittings.
The Excel NE is superior to self-contained composting toilets because it uses a rotating drum to mix and aerate, rather than just a mixing bar or rake. The drum ensures optimum processing by providing the best composting conditions:

- Thorough mixing
- Complete aeration
To accommodate the drum, the toilet is taller than a conventional toilet. An optional step is supplied. To reduce the apparent height of the toilet it can be installed in a 200mm cavity with a trap door to access the finishing tray. The Excel NE composting toilet is the Non Electric version of the standard Excel (see full time use section). It has no heater. There is a 12 or 24 volt fan and a transformer. The Excel NE composting toilet should not be confused or compared with our competitor's Ecolet NE, which consists of two small composting bins inside a white plastic case.
The Excel NE is very popular in solar powered homes. The vent pipe exits from the top of the unit.
